Where does the name “flowtide” come from?

Most of us have come across the idiom “a rising tide lifts all boats” at one point or another. It’s universal, positive and—most importantly—true. We love the message in the idiom and traced it back to it’s (most likely) inception in a speech from JFK in the early 1960s about the American economy. When launching this company we wanted a name that was simple and unique but carried the essence of the idiom. An Ebb tide is when the ocean is going out and a flood tide is when the ocean is rising, “flowtide” is our homage to the latter. For us it means we’re in this together and when we win, you win. We all win.
